About Wai

Wai was drawn to illustration by something she was told as a child,  that the universe is at the end of your pencil. She’s from Hong Kong but now lives in Melbourne and works from home. When she was asked were her ideas come from she said “I have a constant flow of beautiful images in my mind from my teenage years spent poring over fashion journals.” She admires the 1920s illustrator Erte and creates her illustration first using pencil then finishes it in illustrator and Photoshop. She describes her style as polished, dramatic, different yet classic.

Her client list includes

·         The Wall Street Journal
·         Vogue
·         InStyle
·         Spiegel Brands
·         Rouge
·         Orient Express
·         Qantas
·         Penguin Books

I love Wai's illustrations as they are simplistic in style and follow a general colour scheme in each illustration. The illustrations are chic and sophisticated.
